Military Training Vehicles

Vipex was commissioned by the Royal Air Force to the Eurofighter facsimile for use in training exercises. We built several different variations – ranging from aeroplane simulators to full scale aircraft replicas. By combining hydraulics, cutting edge computer technologies and display systems we created a realistic simulation of the flying capabilities of the Eurofighter Typhoon. We can adapt this principle to suit you – giving your troops the chance to experience realistic conditions, without deploying expensive military equipment for training exercises.

Behind the que is a Eurofighter Typhoon, not an ordinary plane although it is hard to tell the two apart, but one designed and built by Vipex to move down the roads and not fly though the air. The £80m aircraft is a very specific machine, and at an eighteenth of the cost, the Vipex version is equally specific having a permanently attached semi-trailer to aid road transport. The airframe has to shrink to a 2.5m x 13.6m x 4m box, a whole different design criteria from its original concept. This is achieve with the use of redesign fuselage and hydraulically actuated wing and tail deployment. An all together different story to the flying version.
